How we Collect and Use Information on Our Web Site

Insight Screening, LLC obtains information on an individual consumer only upon the request of a user who has a permissible purpose under the FCRA to request information on that consumer. The FCRA requires a user to certify to Insight Screening, LLC that it has obtained the written consent of the consumer to request information before Insight Screening, LLC can supply the requested information.[1]

The user must submit to reasonable audits by Insight Screening, LLC to confirm that it is, in fact, obtaining such consents.

Insight Screening, LLC does not maintain a database of consumer information.

Any information gathered on any consumer may only be provided to the user authorized by the consumer to receive the information. Insight Screening, LLC cannot and does not share, sell or distribute consumer information with or to any third party other than the requesting party thereof. Any consumer, upon proper identification, has the right under the FCRA to request Insight Screening, LLC to furnish to the consumer any and all information it may have on that consumer. The consumer has the right to dispute the accuracy or completeness of any information contained in the consumer’s file.

However, Insight Screening, LLC may be required, upon receipt of a court order to release the information in civil litigation or as otherwise required by law, to disclose information regarding a consumer to law enforcement agencies.

Other privacy initiatives and procedures include, but are not limited to:

  • Access to confidential consumer information is limited within Insight Screening, LLC to those who have a need to know the information: obtaining and transmitting information on the consumer or those dealing with a consumer request for information or consumer disputes.
  • Access to Insight Screening, LLC’ computer terminals, file cabinets, fax machines, trash bins, desktops, etc. are secure from unauthorized access.
  • Insight Screening, LLC maintains a secure network to safeguard consumer information from internal and external threat.
  • Any backup data is maintained in an encrypted form.
  • Insight Screening, LLC maintains records on each request for information and identifies each user who requested information on a consumer.
  • Employees are prohibited from “browsing” files or databases without a business justification.
  • Destruction of consumer information follows the Federal Trade Commission’s requirements that the information be unreadable upon disposal.

Personal Information Disclosure: United States or Overseas

  • Insight Screening, LLC does not utilize overseas vendors for the purposes of verifying criminal records or credit reports.
  • Insight Screening, LLC does perform overseas verification of employment history and education records upon request.
  • Insight does not release personal identifiers such as date of birth and social security numbers to overseas agencies for the purpose of obtaining either education of employment information. In cases where release forms are requested by the verifying agency, a modified consent form is provided by Insight which obscures sensitive information.
  • For the purpose of verifying information inside the United States, all completed fields contained on the consent form will be transferred to third party entities so as to obtain all information requested in the consumer report.

How We Use and Collect Information in Our Various Businesses

Insight is a consumer reporting agency (CRAs) operating in accordance with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). FCRA establishes the following principles for all CRAs:

  • Privacy: Information about you may only be furnished to third parties that have a permissible purpose. In general, these deal with credit (if permissible), employment, insurance, rental or banking transactions initiated by you, or where the object is to make a firm offer to you. CRAs must qualify their customers to make certain that they have a permissible purpose to receive the information.
  • Access: Consumers may receive a copy of information the CRA maintains about them. Such reports can be obtained free of charge once per year or for a reasonable fee for additional disclosures. Please visit the applicable subsidiary websites to obtain more information.
  • Accuracy: CRAs must follow reasonable procedures to assure accuracy of the information they maintain and furnish. When you obtain a copy of your information, you have a right to dispute and have the information reinvestigated and corrected in the CRAs database.
  • Fairness: Information is obtained from various sources including public records sources. However, certain information over a specified time period may not be reported.
  • Accountability: The Federal Trade Commission is charges with overseeing the operations of CRAs and enforcing FCRA requirements.
